Vincent and Theo
Thanks for your responses and attention during our first class today. I still found the movie heartfelt and poignant. I liked the way the director cut back and forth from the lives of the two brothers, whose life was so closely intertwined yet geographically separate. I also believe some movies are better not seen in the mass audience realm, where critics and "experts" may diminish its intent and power.

I think the movie showed a more human side to Van Gogh. I did pick up on the fact Vincent and Theo were both dealing with women issues. It was obvious how dependent they were on each other. I think Van Gogh had issues with depression. Maybe selling a few paintings may have helped.
